Building a New Normal: Judaism in the Seven Weeks after Tisha B'Av Saturday, August, 15, 2015, During Services By Dr. Ariel Fishman Dr. Ariel Fishman will be speaking on the topic of "Building a new normal: Judaism in the seven weeks after Tisha B'Av", in anticipation of the forthcoming August 24th blood drive at CBD. Dr. Fishman is Assistant Vice President of Academic Programs at Fordham University in New York City. After sustaining critical injuries and losing both legs in an automobile collision in 2012, Dr. Fishman became an active volunteer spokesperson to encourage people to donate blood. He has given numerous speeches describing his experiences and subsequent recovery, has been featured in YouTube training videos for the New York Blood Center and has appeared on national TV news syndication, and was featured in the New York Jewish Week's annual Jewish community's "36 under 36" leaders in Pathways of the Soul - Netivot Haneshamah: Torah study with Rabbi Berkowitz Continues through summer Saturday, August 15, 2015, 10:30 11:30 a.m. Learn Torah with Rabbi Berkowitz in a very popular Shabbat morning session as he engages participants in exploring the external and internal meanings of the text.
